Teaching Writing in the Age of AI

Dear Faculty, We invite you to join in on conversations to discuss a key pedagogical issue: Teaching Writing in the Age of AI. Teaching Writing in the Age of AI sessions will bring together small groups of faculty from across the university to explore the challenges and opportunities of designing writing assignments and teaching with writing in an era of artificial intelligence. In collaboration with the Office of Undergraduate Education and Trinity College Undergraduate Education, these conversations facilitated by faculty from the Thompson Writing Program respond to a growing concern: that undergraduates are writing less, or only under timed conditions, at the expense of their long-term development as writers. Each 60-minute session is designed as a supported community conversation, a space for faculty to think through practical approaches to writing pedagogy together, across disciplines. Join us for one of our conversations this spring, featuring small groups of faculty, lunch, and the kind of frank discussion that helps us all teach better.
